MoodBite ("we", "us", "our") is a food ordering and recipe discovery app. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

2. Data We Collect

Account data: Email address and name when you sign up
Mood logs: Mood entries you log voluntarily (stored to show insights)
Order history: Orders you place, including items, amounts, delivery address
Meal plans: Recipes you add to your meal plan
Preferences: Dietary restrictions, cuisine preferences, delivery settings
Usage analytics: Screen views, feature usage (anonymized via Plausible)
Affiliate clicks: When you click grocery affiliate links (item name + store)

3. How We Use Your Data

To provide the app service (order processing, recipe recommendations)
To personalise mood-based food recommendations
To send order confirmation emails (with your consent)
To improve the app through anonymized analytics
To calculate affiliate commissions (no personal data shared with affiliates)

4. Data Storage

Your data is stored on Cloudflare's globally distributed infrastructure (Cloudflare D1 SQLite). Data may be processed in the US and EU. Cloudflare is GDPR compliant.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser localStorage (not traditional cookies) to store your preferences and session token. No third-party tracking cookies are used. Analytics via Plausible are cookie-free and GDPR-compliant.

6. Affiliate Links

MoodBite participates in affiliate programs including Amazon Associates. When you click a grocery link, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We track which links are clicked (item name + store) for analytics purposes only.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EU, you have the right to:

Delete your account: Profile → Delete Account (coming soon)
Export your data: Profile → Export Data (coming soon)
Withdraw consent at any time

8. Data Retention

We retain your account data as long as your account is active. Mood logs and order history are retained for 24 months. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time.

9. Children's Privacy

MoodBite is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
